What to expect

How a session works

Every dry needling plan follows the same clear, unhurried path — so you always know what comes next.

01

Assessment

We start by listening to your history and goals, then carry out a thorough hands-on assessment to pinpoint the real source of the problem — not just where it hurts.

02

Diagnosis & plan

We explain what's going on in plain language and agree a clear, realistic treatment plan together, including how many sessions we'd expect.

03

Hands-on treatment

Each visit combines the right techniques for you — manual therapy, exercise and modalities — delivered one-on-one by a registered clinician.

04

Progress & review

We track your progress against your goals, adjust the plan as you improve, and coach the self-management that keeps the problem from coming back.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about dry needling and getting started at Med Wellness.

Do you offer direct insurance billing?

Yes. We bill most extended health plans directly for physiotherapy, massage and chiropractic, so in most cases there's no paperwork and nothing to pay upfront beyond any co-pay. Bring your policy details to your first visit.

Do I need a referral to book?

Not to see us — you can book physiotherapy, massage or chiropractic directly. Some insurance plans require a doctor's referral for reimbursement, so it's worth confirming with your provider.

How long is an appointment?

Your first visit (assessment plus initial treatment) usually takes about 45–60 minutes. Follow-up sessions are typically 30–45 minutes depending on your plan.

What should I wear?

Comfortable, loose-fitting clothing you can move in is ideal. For some assessments it helps to expose the area being treated, so layers you can easily adjust work well.

Can I combine different treatments?

Absolutely — that's a core part of our approach. Many patients see more than one of our practitioners, and we coordinate physiotherapy, massage and chiropractic into one joined-up plan.
