How a session works
Every massage therapy plan follows the same clear, unhurried path — so you always know what comes next.
Assessment
We start by listening to your history and goals, then carry out a thorough hands-on assessment to pinpoint the real source of the problem — not just where it hurts.
Diagnosis & plan
We explain what's going on in plain language and agree a clear, realistic treatment plan together, including how many sessions we'd expect.
Hands-on treatment
Each visit combines the right techniques for you — manual therapy, exercise and modalities — delivered one-on-one by a registered clinician.
Progress & review
We track your progress against your goals, adjust the plan as you improve, and coach the self-management that keeps the problem from coming back.
Frequently asked questions
Common questions about massage therapy and getting started at Med Wellness.
Is massage therapy covered by my insurance?
Massage delivered by our Registered Massage Therapists (RMTs) is eligible for most extended health plans, and we can bill many insurers directly so you don't pay upfront. Coverage amounts vary by plan — check your annual paramedical limit.
Will the massage be painful?
It shouldn't be. Pressure is always adjusted to your comfort — deep tissue work can feel intense but should never be painful. Just tell your therapist and they'll adapt in the moment.
How is this different from a spa massage?
Our RMTs are regulated healthcare providers who assess your needs and treat specific problems — muscle injuries, tension, recovery — as part of a clinical plan, and provide insurance receipts.
